Hi There,

Needing to invest in a new pair of boots which will be used for everyday wear but to be cleaned up for local riding club events also. As my partner owes me a birthday pressie, he can contribute to the cost!

Soooo I have found the Ariat Bromonts and MH HR have caught my eye and have been backed up with good reviews online from what i can see.

Ariats - I really like the idea of the suede effect on the inside of the Ariats but they look quite dull on the rest of the leather, do they polish up a bit? These seem slightly cheaper which is always good for the pocket!

MH - i really prefer the look of the MH they seem closer fit and i particularily like the more spanish top to them../

I am visiting the local saddler at the weekend to try on but if anyone has owned either or both i would love to hear your feedback!!!

I wouldn't recomend the ariats to anyone, both my zips broke, look very dull, zips have been replaced now the leather has started to come away from the stitching, lovely to ride in but defo not worth the money, I'm looking at the MH ones for my next pair so il be watching this tread to
See if any reviews come up :-)

The Bromonts are amazing. I use mine for every day and for comps and they still look like new when cleaned up too! Had them 3 years! Fantastic boots!

I love my Ariat bromonts; I never had to wear them in, they were comfortable from day one, and I've been wearing them nearly every day for over 3 years and they're still going strong. I wear them in muddy fields too, not just for riding. :)

My Ariat bromonts are amazing, got them 2 years and have worn them constantly. I dont look after them as well as I should but once cleaned up they still look good :) Wouldnt hesitate to buy another pair!

I've got Ariat Bromonts - they were really comfortable from day one and fit well. I haven't had the MH boots you mention but in the past have had the MH sportive high riders and found that they took ages to feel comfortable and the zips dug into my Achilies tendons. I still have them as a back up pair but wouldn't recommend them.

Another vote for Ariat here. Jackpolling if you send the boots back to Ariat they will replace them - their customer service is really good :)

The thing about the ariats is they look so dull? i havent seen them in real life yet but from the pics online they look more like an everyday boot than competition? am i rite?

Im quite fond of the spanish tops on the MH the bromonts seem more of a flat top ?

Thanks Broke but happy worth a try! i did get intouch with them about the zips and i must say they wernt all that helpful but maybe now this has happend i may get more joy from them!

If you want smart then its the MH all the way for me, I had a pair of Richmonds for a couple of years that I then sold to a friend after I lost a load of weight and they got too big and they still look great after years of use. I've had zips break on MH boots before and they were replaced through a retailer with no issues.

I got rid of my Bromonts as they just looked so tatty after a few weeks, they were dull and the suede was worn. Not what I wanted in a pair of smart boots. The zips kept catching and one of the poppers broke, I sold them on ebay for half of what I bought them for and bought another pair of smart show boots (Treadstep Donatellos - very nice!). I did contact Ariat re the problems with the Bromonts and go no help at all - was not amused.

I have just recently spoken to Ariat about a pair of Volants I have that the poppers have broken on, they have been great and the boots are going back for repair - sometimes I think it's just your luck who you speak to when you contact these companies....

I have the MH Sportive high riders and love them, look really smart (love the Spanish tops too) and polish up really well. Have had mine for a few years now and they are still going strong.
