Are the ariat bromonts good for people with long legs? am 5ft10 (just under) and hate it when boots arnt quite long enough..........
So do they come up tall??
I really love the ariats (having an ebay clear out and hopefully raise enough funds for a nice new pair :) )
I have decided to go for the waxed chocolate, really like the look of brown boots better than black and have a cheaper pair of black field boots for competition anyways.. I want them for everyday riding and may wear them a fair bit during the dry summer months but no wading through muddy winters (i have wellies for that!)
I just want to make sure of the fit etc before i commit.
I have heard that they have a really good shelf life too which is a massive bonus! i tend to go through boots and wellies at a fast pace........
I did post about these a few weeks back but never asked about the fit!

I am just shy of 6ft and found they come up quite long and fitted me fine, which i was very suprised at as normal knee high boots end up as mid calf boots on me :) They do actually come in a longer length version if you need it, but have to be ordered in !

They are around 18 1/2 or 19 inches tall for about a size 7 foot if I remember correctly. They are longer than quite a lot of boots and shorties tend to need heel raisers when we fit them. Hope this helps!

Ooh im glad you posted this :) Im also considering a pair and was worried they would be too short.

Im also pushing 6ft and will measure but think I will need to order the longer length :( anyone know where you order these from? My instructor has a pair and is almost as tall as me and they fit her nice but I have dinky size 5 1/2s where as I *think* shes a 7. Is the info up on the web somewhere for sizing? I looked at ariat online but couldnt find any measurement info :(.

Im also contemplating whether to get the insulated version or standard. Anyone who has them ...how warm are the insulated boots please? Id like to use them for winter riding, hunting etc with a thick sock and not feel like Im about to lose a toe but at the same time it would be great to be able to wear them in summer with
a thin sock too. I take it the insulated version would be too warm for this? :) thanks.

Becca they don't do a longer version, they only do one leg length. I can wear mine in winter and have toasty warm feet but they can be a bit too hot to wear in the summer. If you want ariat long boots in particular then your best bet would be to find your nearest ariat tall boot stockist and they will have other styles like the challenger that come in different lengths altho these are more expensive.

Dohh :( the downside to having small feet :(. Just liked that model really, I have ariat short boots which are comfy and did have their long chaps (as they come in lots of lengths and widths so were brill) but they didnt last very well :( and I also really need a pair of black boots for hunting as my comp boots are brown.

I will try and find the measurement info online and see if they would be long enough in my size or not :(. If not its back to the drawing board. I dont really want to spend any more money than the bromonts are as my comp boots were really expensive. Not fair if you're tall you seem to have to shell out loads on long boots!

Thanks for letting me know :). Any recommendations of other makes which come up long by any chance pls? :)

The problem is not many other long boots are as resilient as bromonts and tend to be more like if you wear me around mud or horse wee I will instantly disintegrate style! It would be worth trying a pair of bromonts tho, they're lovely if you can have some! One boot id avoid that does super long lengths are the equitector made to measure ones, they're ugly as sin and fit like wellies round the ankle even from the made to measure measurements!

Thats so strange I just googled and was looking on that site :p. Put in my measurements and they said I needed custom made, looked at the boots and thought no thankyou! They are so ugly!

I googled the ariat challenger they look nice and I could perhaps stretch to a pair of them :) but for some reason only US websites were coming up so will try later on laptop with Uk pages only filter. :)

I dont *think* the bromonts will fit me :( just measured my leg and its coming up about 18 3/4inch but I need a 5 1/2 boot so would guess if thats the leg length for size 7s it would be shorter for 5 1/2s :( would explain why they fit my instructor well though- lucky so and so! Damn disproportionate feet to legs! Meh!

I definitely need a pair which will stand up to mud etc for winter!

Thanks :)

5ft 9 so not mega tall but the thing I like about mine is that they haven't sagged round the ankle. I've had mine just over a year and ride two most days and use them for comps so well used. I don't wear them round the yard though. They go on after I've tacked up and taken off as soon as I've untacked.
