I am going on a riding holiday in Spain and would like your opinions on what is the coolest option to wear; Ariat Grasmere boots or short boots and chaps? Also anybody who can recommend some cool jodhpurs!
Thank you!.

I ride in the south of France and find boots and chaps the coolest.

I have Caldene Three Tech jodhs and find them by far the most comfy in hot temperatures. You can get them pretty cheaply, too on line.

Have fun!

I have been on quite a few riding hols in hot places and recommend jod boots and chaps. If you stop for lunch or a break you can just take the chaps off to cool down whilst keeping your feet protected (clumsy horse feet, snakes....) plus you can wear the jod boots for walking or whatever and don't have to pack so much.

Have fun!

Years ago I used to wear cycling shorts and long suede chaps over. They were the coolest option. Despite the suede chaps being quite thick they were a lot cooler than even the thinnest jods.

Went out in my ariat windermeres the other day and my feet were sweltering and got lovely and sweaty so would recommend the boots and chaps :)

Full suede chaps are great for keeping the heat out in summer and keeping you warm and dry in winter.
Have to say that I've also worn Ariat Grasmeres in very hot weather and they did seem to keep the heat out as well.

On balance, the full suede chaps are good because if worn with shorts, when you're not in the saddle, they are quick to take off and you can enjoy the sunshine.

Boots and chaps, then you can take off the chaps when its too hot.
I don't know if you can get them there, but I wear saxon brand joddies, they are nice and cool and pretty cheap.
Kx
