Any good? Short or long version - "Bromont H20 Insulated" type.

Are they cosy and waterproof but not at all bulky? My paddock boots are so cold in the winter when competing

Also, I need to replace my current Ariat short boots and close contact gaiters anyway as they're finally looking a bit manky. Any recommendations? I like Ariat as they do last a long time and fit well. But am open to suggestions of any others - possibly long boots but my only concern with long ones is they have to be really soft leather!

I have got these ones ...... http://www.derbyhouse.co.uk/prodshow.asp?id=2753&cat=3&scats=73,42

Bought them at the begining of summer and really rate them. I have real problems with boots being uncomfortable and new ones always give me terrible blisters these have been comfortable from day one. I ride in mine and do all yard work and they still look brand new.
Have nt had cold feet in them ( although we have only had a couple of mornings of frost!) Really rate them.

I bought some Ariat Heritage short boots at HOYS. The foot is comfortable, but the zip bit going up to the ankle is agony. I can't wear them with the zips done up. Although there are elastic side bits (and my legs are a perfectly normal size!) I just can't get them done up long enough to stretch them into a more comfortable shape. I have never had this problem with any other type of jodphur style boot before.

However, when at HOYS I also bought (from Ayr Equestrian) some Treadstone long boots with elastic inserts where the zip goes. I already have these in brown, and they are the most comfortable boots ever. They are around £100, so I don't mind sloshing around in the mud.

I have a pair of Konigs for every day shows, but for dressage through the winter, I prefer to be able to wear thicker socks!

I've got a pair of the Ariat Bromont's.. the long winter ones that have just come out. They are lovely! They haven't rubbed once, incredibly comfy, supple and soft from the word go and very warm! I hacked out in them the other morning when it was cold with just a thin pair of socks on and my feet stayed lovely and warm!! I normally struggle to get long boots to fit, but I tried the wide ones and they are perfect!!
So at the moment I can't find a bad thing to say about them!
