Help please. The buckle on my daughter's Ariat Mudbuster boot has snapped with the result that the strap now just flaps about. They haven't had much wear although they're out of guarantee now. Does anyone know where I can get the boot repaired or get a replacement buckle and try and do something myself. Seems a shame not to try as the boots themselves are in almost pristine condition. Thanks.

Try takingbthem to a shoe makers or a saddlers they maybe able to fit it. If not give ariat a call, they still may fix it, you never know

Hmmm could try your local cobblers, I know ours repair all sorts (inc horse rugs although they weren't very happy about it!) or as has been said may be worth contacting Ariat to see what they can suggest...

Thanks for your prompt replies. I've contacted Ariat. Hopefully they'll be able to repair boot or supply me with a buckle. Fingers crossed.

Have you got a photo of the buckle?
May have one in stock I can send you , failing that ask a cobbler or another saddler local to you, he/she may have one.

Update:I have had a look at a picture of one, it looks like a camlock but can't be sure, does it look like this

Here's the buckle. Looks like a camlock as you say. What's happened is that the top corner of the part of the buckle attached to the boot has sheared off, together with the little post, so that the bit that you press down on to secure the strap no longer stays on the buckle. I realise that the loop holding the buckle would have to be cut and then glued after securing the new buckle but this would be hidden and there actually isn't much tension on the strap. Just looks awful loose! Wish the buckles were made of metal. Thanks for your time. What a super forum!
