Been doing some riding boot replacing. Replaced my crappy, falling apart, pretend leather, hand me down boots that I used to use for everything with some everyday leather jodphur boots and some canvas chaps :)

Now I am on to getting some long leather boots for local (unaff atm, may affiliate soon) competition. I am looking at spending about £150-£200. Tried on ariat bromont and mountain horse (can't remeber make, but they were about£160) and can't decide which and whether the extra money for the ariats is worth it.

Any advice? Thank you

I have both Ariats and Mountain Horse. They are both lovely and I love wearing them. However, if you are competing, I (personally) think the ariats look better - the Mountain Horse are a little more clumpy (if you know what I mean).

i prefer mountain horse ones im saving up for a pair of mountain horse supremes at the moment, and they are def not clumpy but are like 265 :O i have mountain horse sportive high riders just now yeh a bit clumpy but when competiting i wear boots and gaiters just wear the boots for commonriding and hunting

i had a pair of the MH boots for a few years, and they were really comfy. th only thing I would say is that the zips weren't quite up to the mud gathered during hunting!!

I like the equitector boots. they're really comfy, and i think you get better value for money, plus they're toecapped, and the guyy is really helpful.

I have had a few MH boots and found them quite clumpy and heavy. I bought my first pair of Ariats recently and they are SOOOO COMFORTABLE. They really support the arches of my feet which the MH ones didn't. I can wear them all day and not have sore feet. So Ariat for me every time now :)

I have the Ariats and they are the most comfortable boots ive ever owned, only downside if its for everyday use then watch the zips mine have broke twice although after replaced they are fine for a bit.
