Ariat short boots- zip or laces, which is best?

Im looking to treat myself to pair and wondered if there is any difference with laces or zips.

I've got ones with zips. I've had them for years and years. I only use them to ride in so they don't get 'yard' used. But they are great.

I go for zips just for ease of use. I've got two pairs - one only used for competition and the others, which are my old competition ones I wear at the yard 24/7. Very comfy and hard wearing.

I have the zip ones. Don't the laced ones just have zips at the back anyway?

my zips kept sticking so i have lace up now but then you have to replace the laces after 3-4 months. I did put WD40 on the zips in the end!

My zips both broke within 4 months

And i only wear them to ride in! I was not happy!

zips are reknown for breaking but saying that have had 2 pairs with zips as they are nicer than laces

Id be using them all the time really for riding and yard duties. I think that if Im going to spend that much, I might as well get my moneys worth.

Do many people wear them for general yard duties?

the zips on mine always went as well, i stick to lace-up now.
although my Grasmeres are so comfy i might be wearing them all summer as well as all winter!

i've had zips for 3-4 months now and like them. had lace up boots before (not ariat) and liked them as well. If the boot is nice and snug with a zip then I would go for that option. if not, then would choose laces as you can obviously tighten them to fit.
I have the chaps as well, so not sure if that protects more than riding/wearing without as not much dirt can get in the zip.

I have the zip up Heritage ones, had them since last year and I use them both for riding and yard duties. Very comfortable, zips are fine although I only zip my halfway(chaps cover the rest)

Grasmeres are great aren't they Kerilli? I wore mine a lot during the summer as well and my feet stayed cool and comfy

I had my last pair with zips for 7 years and only threw oout as the leather had worn out -though the zip did bust about 4 months before hand

I have both, and wouldnt know which to recommend more! I have two pairs with zips, one pair I have used every day for mucking out and riding for the past 8 years, and the right zip has only just started being faulty (goes down without me asking it to!) I have a lace up pair which, although I think they look smarter, they are perhaps less comfortable than the zip ups....and they are annoying to do up! Mum has a pair with laces on the front and a zip up the back - this seems a good happy medium!

I like the zip ones but my friend used hers on the yard everyday and the zip eventually got stuck!! but they are ok if you just ride in them

I've got zip ones and had laces in the past. I prefer zips because they are much quicker and they use very strong zips so they do last. I suppose the lace ones are good if you have small ankles because they give you a bit more support because you can pull them up tighter.
