Ariat Telluride v Bareback Blair Boots

I need a new pair of boots for riding holidays and have been looking at Ariat Tellurides and Bareback Blair boots. Does anyone have any experience of either of these that they can share? My next riding trip is Botswana so nothing insulated or too hot.

I have a number of pairs of ariats and they tend to fit me well but I’ve never had bareback boots before.

Also worth noting I have very small feet size 2/3 and a lot of other brands with similar styles start at size 4 so aren’t suitable for me.

I just got some Bareback Andalusian boots and they are really comfortable. I have also had Ariats and they have been good. 2 good brands there, IMO, whatever you buy.
 
I've worn Ariat Tellurides for years. They are different now, I've got 2 pairs and they are so uncomfortable, I'm selling them
 
I love my Bareback Kentuckys - I bought them last autumn and wore them straight out of the box on a fifty mile walk with my horse (he carried the bags, I walked). I would not generally recommend this approach with new boots but I got away with it because they're so comfy!

I love laced Tellurides and they seem the same as they’ve always been? Bought my last pair in December. Nice cushioning. I’ve done a couple of Welsh 3 day treks in them as well as my normal riding. I wear the Ariat Concorde chaps over them. Never worn Bareback. Friends who have them liked them for comfort but some complain that they were not waterproof as advertised.

What size and are they laced? May be interested 😊
 
I've got tuffa endurance boots that I rate they've been up mountains in Mongolia but I'd be interested in some lace ups I think if anyone knows how they compare size wise.
 
I have the original Ariat version of the short lace up dual purpose boots now called Tellyouride.
I knew my size in Ariat as I ride in Ariats.
I used to take them to USA and did both mountain walking and Western trail riding in them. Mine were the early model and not waterproof ones but none the less, I walked through some shallow snow in USA without getting my feet wet.
Because they had smoothish soles for safe riding, they were not ideal for mountain walking and I never wore them for serious mountains in the Alps or UK. But I did like them very much and still have them. I wore them too when riding bareback but my bareback days are probably over.
One thing I remember is that they needed breaking in. We went a country walk somewhere like Warwickshire to break them in and they were very uncomfortable. Then after one or two long walks they were perfect.

I doubt whether it is possible to make a boot that is safe for both hill walking and riding but when we went round Newmarket on a soaking wet day, our guide wore Dubarry long boots and I envied her those. My winter walking boots which I wore today and still have on are Meindl.
 
I'm a Telluride girl (well old woman). I tried some bareback boots, can't remember what the style was. They looked lovely but were so narrow compared to the Ariats I couldn't wear them.

I do like the Ariats but they are pricey & I kill boots so I bought some slightly cheaper ones from Kramer instead. I like them just as much as the rate of death seems roughly the same!

I've had numerous Ariats, still use my long ariats regularly. But I wouldn't replace them - I much prefer my short Barebacks now. They're incredibly comfortable and I've had no issues with waterproofing. Currently on my second pair, but the first ones lasted four times as long as my cheap Kramer ones, and probably twice as long as previous short Ariats.

Never tried Bareback boots despite the relentless marketing. Ariat have good product support back up…

Love my Ariat Tellurides. The zip front Tellurides are less clumpy and more suitable for riding and for pairing with half chaps that the lace ups, which IMHO though great boots are more winter wear off horse boots.

Telluride zip fronts vs Telluride lace ups, same size. I can use my regular Tredstep suede half chaps with the zip fronts but have to size up half chaps for the lace ups.

Horsey travel agent here! 👋🏻 I wear Ariat Tellurides (with laces), as do all my team. I’ve worn them everywhere from Botswana to Ecuador, India to Bosnia and beyond. I haven’t tried Bareback boots but the Ariats remain the most tried, tested and recommended riding holiday boot of choice in my experience.
