So Mr Arniebear has been back in work a week tomorrow!! Which does mean he gets to increase his hacks to 15 minutes!! Ohhh the excitement!! :D No I am actually excited!!! :D

It took him all of 5 rides to figure out it was dull and boring and that his mum needed to do more work than him, so now our hacks consist of dawdling and general laziness.... I do love having my horse back! ;)

But clearly the stress of being back in work is getting to him... He's a rescue case right???

I find him like this every morning!! THE LAZY OAF!!!

He was being a bit of a wuss regarding his feet so an emergency call to my awesome farrier saw a front set go on, he then had a visit from his favorite vet to get his teeth done! So all in all he has had his MOT!

On to today, in my opinion he is carrying a little too much weight coming out of winter, (yes I did just call my horse FAT!) which ideally I want off him but due to his slow start needed for rehabbing his injury I decided with my vet to give him a bash at swimming, to help get him fitter without too much strain on the tendons. Also to give him something else to do as walking up the road isn't really that exciting! :p

I wasn't quite sure what he would be like as eventing last year he was a bit of a pansy about getting his feet wet (beach trips are pre organized as soon as I can start trot work... 3 weeks to go!!!) I shouldn't have worried! He was AWESOME! :D :D He did come out with a look of WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED on his face, bless him I think he was a bit shell shocked by it all but I think he enjoyed it! He's booked to go again next week so I hope he did!! The guys who own the pool were really funny, its in Newmarket so I guess they don't see too many BIG FAT Warmbloods all they kept saying was OMG HE IS HUGE! Yes yes he is! I wish he would shrink sometimes! :p

Entering the shoot!

So that's Arnie's update for now, We aren't doing anything too exciting until he can trot and then we may venture to the forest and the beach, he will be swimming on a weekly basis and as of tonight he has his hacking buddy back!! :)

Thanks for reading the epic tales of my dude of horse :)

Apologies for the big blackness either side of each pic they are stolen off the video footage!

Lovely, just do wait 30mins after they swim before you leave him because if they swallow some of chlorinated water they get colic, just to be safe, you never know when they do.

gr8 pictures our local equine pool has closed which one is this????

This is in Newmarket at Southfield Stables down Hamilton road :) They have a website :)
