Arrggh!!! Jerry has a fat leg

Just dragged the Jerry monster out of its stable to discover he has a swelling just down the inside of his leg where you would expect a splint to form, but this doesn't feel like that, very soft and squidgy, when you press it it stays indented a little. It is warm but he is 100% sound

The only thing I could think of was a fly bite as it has a proper edge to it if you know what I mean, but must have been a big fly!

Any other ideas? I didn't dare ride it and have just shoved some cold boots on for half an hour.

Infection?
I'd stick him on bute and antibs for 3 days just in case

Possibly, but couldnt find anything, it also it has a definate edge to it which is very odd

could be the start of a splint, often have soft swelling first where the tissue is building, i'd err on the side of caution and keep the work gentle, cold hose as well.
