Gosh i am soooooo angry me and my husband rescued a 9mth old weimarener nearly a year ago from a family who live down the road from us, she was tied to a washing line all day never taken for walks and they wondered why she was such a handful!! She came to us as thin as a rake, cost us a fortune in vets fees to get her right and now i have found out they have just bought a border collie puppy treating it the same way!! Why are people so stupid and irresponsible it makes my skin crawl. The woman is a police officer and her husband a sercurity guard never at home got 3 young kids arghhhhhhh

I think people should have to take an exam before being allowed to have animals
I have posted before about a neighbours dog locked in an alley all day and late into the evening. All during the fireworks about 2 weeks it was outside barking its head of scared to death, and now that the weather is freezing cold and frosty its still outside, while they are no doubt warm and cozy in front of the fire. Why do they have animals if they obviously have no interest in them. These people are
what you would call well educated types with good jobs. Pity they are so pig ignorant about another living beings welfare.

Some people shouldnt be allowed to have children without a
certificate of competence either !

Ive just been listening to a news item about the rescue centres beign overwhelmed with dogs, particularly staffies, and the woman saying that the christmas presents come in and the pets get thrown out. Except for the new puppies etc of course. There are still people advertising purporting to be responsible breeders, "puppies ready for Christmas"

Blimey. I have major guilt trips when I'm only able to walk Stella twice a day, instead of the usual three or four.

It's such a shame on that poor Border Collie

My neighbour used to have two Australian Shepherds, which she kept on her roof terrace. Okay, so the terrace is 3500 sq. feet but the dogs never used to be walked, and would bark the whole time. Thankfully, they are now living with her sister in rural Vermont.

Some people never learn....

I have a horrible feeling I know of another Weimaraner, that is going to end up in the wrong home....................the reason for them choosing a Weimaraner as their 1st dog???..........'Wife wanted a silver coloured dog'!!!!!

............They have been warned that is going to need loads of exercise and mental stimulation as is a highly intelligent breed, not sure it really registered.

I can relate...and know exactly how u feel...we have dogs handed into us for re-homing all the time...only to see them walking into the vets or down the street with a new puppy

And she's police officer too! You kinda hope she would have a vague idea of what's the right and wrong way to look after a dog.

As for the one that's kept outside, I think they can now be prosecuted for not providing adequate shelter under the new RSPCA rules? Am I right? Perhaps now would be the time to report them anonymously before the poor little sod freezes to death

Been there, done that, no joy Im afraid. Seems the new Regs are open to interpretation, so dont seem to have any "teeth"

Years ago our then neighbours had an old dog that looked like a Puli its coat was so matted and once when I went out in the back garden when the snow was falling and a couple of inches on the ground and the poor dog was curled up in the snow outside the back door.

McDuff I have my puppy asleep on my feet as I type and the thought of that poor dog lying in the snow brings tears to my eyes. These people should be locked up.
