I am having a nightmare dealing with the Oldenburg Passport people!!! Sent 3 emails tried ringing and they cut me off!!

So some help people.

First off i need to send my passport to them, 1. To register his show name on passport, 2. Change ownership and 3. Change from a stallion to a gelding!

I need to know if there are any forms to fill out and the price on this as i do not want to send the passport off when things are not clear as i wish to have it back asap!!!

Any advice or anyone that has dealt with them before??

I had a nightmare with the Westphalian Society . I bought a filly but her passport had been sent off after her branding by the previous owner /breeder, I trusted her as she was a friend of a friend. The society never sent the passport back and told me the breeder had not paid, I sent the details of the transaction from the bank to them and waited and waited . Finally I got the passport and as a good will gesture they changed the ownership without any payment from me. I then found out she had missed her flu/ tet 3rd injection and had to start again. They are not easy to deal with

I can certainly sympathise with you on this. I have also had real problems with contacting them. I have sent countless emails and never hear anything back. You have got to be very persistent and they will eventually get back to you.

Good luck!

Under EU Law your passport should be returned within 45 days. Haras Nationaux can be very slow too, which causes all sorts of problems - as you say for vaccinations and competition.

Why not ask the Passport Team at DEFRA to take this up with the Commission?

It would be good if someone else wrote to them. I think they have 'Wanted" posters for me in their office.
