The rotten so and so's!

Just rang the farrier to see how he got on or should I say to see if he made it down there yet (checking up on him I know but have to these days), as he said he would come and shoe Mackenzie himself seen as I'm at work etc, catch him and bring him in from the field and do it while I was at work, bless him (how nice is that).

Anyway just spoke to him now and he said ''no I haven't got time to get down this week will have to be towards end of next week flower'' and I'm but but you said it would be today!!, ''did I, are you sure I said that?'' I said YES you said to remind you Wednesday and that you would be down Thursday aft, ''well its Thursday today and you never rang me yesterday'' and I said yes but I rang you this morning and left you a message and told you where I'd left the money etc....so I had right old winged at him.

So while I'm moaning in his ear I hear this banging and clanging in the background and he said in a babyish voice

''here Mackenzie... do you want speak to your mommy?'' passed the phone over to his nose and all I could here is everyone laughing in the background!

He said ''do you want me to put him back in the field or leave him tied up here till you get down later?''

Already have, next time he comes and he's jumped back in his van and just about to set off to his next job, I shall tie Mackenzie to the back of it

Bye Bye Mackenzie *waves*

He'll pull up to his next job and find his favourite horse waiting patiently round the back of his van for him.

My farrier was shoeing monty once and my friend asked me to hold her tacked-up 17hh mega-cob. She nipped into the bushes for a pre-hack wee and my farrier jumped on and trotted off!

My farrier is 5'7ish, slim build and looks like a 14 year old boy which made it even more hilarious watching him 'steal' my friends horse.

"will have to be towards end of next week flower"

When I lived in Leeds and had my horse up there, moved back to the Fens 5 years ago, I had a farrier who called me - and my gelding "flower"!!

Wonder if it was the same guy? I can't remember his name but his forge was in Flockton.
