hi all i had my boy gelded yesterday what a performance to arrange it. vet had cancled 3 times and i new this appointment would also be cancled due to weather. i decided to try and find transport to take him to them in the morning to be done. i picked him up at 4,00. he looked like he had been threw the wars with blood all dwn his back legs and all over his taail. of course he looked worse as hes a pie bold cob so the red blood stood out a mile. he had some feed and i turned him out. i am so proud of him he loaded great travled great and was a star for the vets. at least i no my handlleing is going in the right direction as 3months ago he was an untouched colt. he is a little grumpy due to soreness ears are very flat back but hopefuly next few days it will start healing nicely.
just wanted to share

Well done, and well done your boy. Mine was already gelded and is a big huggable, affectionate lad. Beats all my hormonal mares for sweetness anyday!

my boy has always been kind and gentle up untill few weeks ago when being led he wld try to bite every 2 seconds. touch wood this will strart to die dwn now. i have just started teaching him personal space as he was getting into mine far to much, but im sure this will also be a problem of the past in a few weeks if i keep at it. :)

even though turned out make sure he moves about and doesnt just stand in one place will stiffen up and become more sore, also make sure you wash between the hind legs and put some vaseline there for any swelling and discharge which might get there from moving about to stop any sores forming.

Mine were brought in, gelded and as soon as they came round a bit, chucked back out. They had daily antibiotics and bute, and were checked twice a day, but I at not point messed with the wound! I was advised to not touch anything!
