• Rags soaked in cider vinegar and placed over the arthritis area and bandaged over can help considerably.
  
• A decent joint supplement. How to know if your joint supplement is still helping your horse and you are not simply flushing your hard earned money down the loo? Try taking your horse off it for a month and see if you can see any difference in lameness issues.
  
• Don't trot on roads or hard surfaces. This will aggravate arthritis.
