Arthritis advice

My horse has been diagnosed with arthritis in her knee from an injury she received before she came to me. She is intermittent lame and only used for hacking out three or four times a week. The vet has said she would be a good candidate for Arthramid a gel that can be injected into her knee. Has anyone had this for their horse or heard any more about it.

My mare had arthramid injected a month ago into her coffin joint. She has returned to light work, is sound in walk and improving her movement in trot. She was very lame in walk prior to the treatment so I do think it has helped. My vet is back up next week to reassess her.
Actual treatment was very straightforward, she was sedated and then the gel was injected. Getting the needle into the gel was the hardest part for my vet, since it's designed for humans not horses.

I have discussed this with my vet with Fattys stifle in mind .
However I don't think it's the best option for him ATM.
For a knee I would go for it , knee arthritis is difficult to manage ( I lost one of my favourite horses to it) Much more so than hock and fetlock .
It's going to be the new big thing for arthritis.
