My boy is 23 and is showing signs of arthritis, and was wondering if you have found benefit with using stable boots to increase circulation? He is kept out 24/7 however come winter he will be stabled in a small hard ground area at night so I'm thinking for use then? Plus, do you have any tips to help manage it like any supplements or therapies?

Mine is hugely improved when her legs are covered. She has PE magnetic stable wraps. Stable bandages are the most effective for her but putting them on is time consuming. Is your pony's pen under cover? I found if she's out turnout boots overnight also help when it's cold.

They looked good, with great reviews so I am leaning towards them! Exactly, and in the pouring rain or a rush I can see myself not doing it. The pen isn't fully covered but does have a small cover. He is a sweaty boy so tends to prefer the cold and being out, always has. Ok, I will have a look into thoughts too, thank you so much!

I use thermatex leg wraps on my older boy in the winter when the temperature drops. I find this stops any fluid filling his legs and helps his movement in the morning. I also have no hesitation in giving him a sachet of danillon on days when he looks stiff to keep him happy. Is he still ridden? I tend to do a lot of walk then almost straight into a canter on each rein before coming back to trot, canter is easiest for an older horse and helps to loosen them off.

any warmth and support will aid art and rhu, when i was younger i had rhu and now i only have the odd twinge, because i never let myself get cold, always wash in a hot bathroom, and wear layers or ski wear on my legs, so i do the same for for horses, keep them warm as nothing is more miserable than being cold brrrrr

Thank you! He is still ridden but only as a happy hacker so mainly just in walk with little trot and canter. In the main he is fine, he just has the occasional off day where he is a little stiff. Ahh, that makes sense, yes. I will try and do that. I notice in the field he tends to go into canter more readily than trot (on the rare occasion he does move around 😂).
Is danillon easily accessible or does it need to be prescribed by the vet?

Thank you! Completely agree, though he is difficult as he gets sweaty sooo easily, bless him!
