so, bit of a tricky one, my horse threw me a couple weeks ago as I'd just got on, no stirrups or twins and decided to do a bucking bronco. Saddler was coming out anyway to get a new saddle as he's changed shape and his no longer fit him. So saddler out on the Friday after (threw me on the Wednesday), found a sore patch so physio out a week after doing lunging as had no saddle, physios came out and I mentioned that he's been messing about the past few days on the lunge and disuniting and coming up short in the back right leg. So trotted him up and lunged again (was surprisingly calmer thank god) and coming up short still and still launched into canter on one rein. ANYWAY(sorry v long😂
had seen to his back (sorest she's seen him in the past 1.5 years, even after doing a tendon and overcompensating so making one side stiff but that is another long story 🙄
anyway released his back and hunched him up and it all cracked (she said she was hoping that would happen and that will hopefully help him stretch that back leg if not it will be a vet investigation) but she says he's not the type (TB X) to gain arthritis in his back but it's not impossible, so going down the acute ulcers road and doing what I can to see if that helps and she's back out in 3 weeks after he'll of been walking out for two weeks (saddlers back out to fit a saddle next week) to see if he's deteriorated again or not. He's always been girthy since I bought him two years ago and is a big stress head, for some reason I just never thought of low grade ulcers because he never really 'kicked off', but what are your thoughts? have you had horses with symptoms for any of the conditions in the title? if so what were they/prognosis? thanks!!
