Any stories?

This is what the vets now suspect Squirrel has as the nerve blocks aren't showing any improvement.

He's having a bone scan - hopefully today - but wondering if anyone has any knowledge?

Have found some positive and also some very negative things online.

My Arab has this. She's 20 and initial concerns were raised because she kept going disunited in canter, even when just cantering in the field. She had an injection into both SI joints earlier in the year - it was a combination injection, supposed to have 3 things inc corticosteroids. In the end, she couldn't have the steroids as she is a massive lami risk due to cushings and just had the other two drugs (sorry, I can't remember what they were). There has been a definite improvement, although not as drastic as if she'd been able to have the corticosteroids. I am currently trying to get hold of the vet to see if we can proceed with the next stage of treatment (insurance is paying out) which will either be injection with the corticosteroids or tildren. But the vet is proving a nightmare to get hold of!
I am fairly optimistic about my mare, but this is because she is semi-retired to light hacking anyway due to existing conditions, so I am not trying to keep her sound enough for intensive exercise, which is where I think things get harder.
