[QUOTE=My horse is a 12 year old Appaloosa gelding he's fit and healthy but just recently I've noticed a lot of clicking going on in his neck, at first I thought oh it's nothing to worry about but now its every time he moves his neck to turn to look at me! I've been doing stretches with him with a carrot and making him stretch down to the floor and left and right (which I don't know if it helped) about 10 months ago he fractured his leg (radius bone) and he was cross tied for 3 months and only got to put his head down for his breakfast lunch and dinner, which I'm wondering if this may be the cause of it because he now has a big lump of muscle under his neck and I thought that's quite a lot of weight to carry under his neck which might be causing the clicking? He doesn't seem in pain at all with it, infact when it clicks he doesn't do anything! When I ride him I let him stretch down to the floor but in an outline to help build up his top line again! He's getting fed on a scoop of spillers horse and pony cubes, a scoop of Alfa-A original chaff, a quarter of a scoop of bran then one of those little scoops you get with the garlic he gets one scoop of garlic and a carrot, he has a big bucket of hay in the day ( unless he goes out) and three sections of hay in a Haynnet at night, do you think I should put his hay on the floor or in a haybar so he doesn't have to put his head up? For his excersize he gets schooled, lunged with loose draw reins to make him stretch, he does dressage and jumping his max height at the moment is about 3"6-3"9 and he's doing really well, but just doesn't seem to be building up any top line even with the amount of stretching I let him do. My dad suggested adding cod liver oil to his feeds gradually, would this heLp and should I try it??:/ thanks everyone!!
