There have been several fatal cases in the last week or so in my area. So worrying. My girl is still living out, but thinking of bringing her in at night now because the cases seem to be with horses out 24/7.... my pasture is not wet or particularly leafy, but think it is worth it.

Good thread OP , nows the time to be extra vigilant especially as it's still so warm. EAM was rife down in these parts last year , we sectioned off the only bit of field with lieing leaves and will do again , although wierdly it's been pretty windy down here of late and the leaves have mostly blown away from where they usually collect , but anywhere where it's sheltered , leafy and warm could potentially harbour this bacterial growth.

My warmblood gets very stressed when stabled,and if I bring his young(15 month old) companion in,he would get very stressed in the field.
All I can do it seems is remove dead leaves(loads of them!),not feed hay off the ground and pray I guess.
They are in good condition and come in daily for hard feed and a groom.
There is always something to worry about with horses.

Not in your area but ours do live out 24/7. Every horse owners worst nightmare.
