I want to paint a picture of my share pony for his owner for christmas. I don't actually have any good reference photos of him though, so i've put together a sketch from a number of different photos, and I just wanted to see if you all thought the proportions looked right, as I know how easy it is to loose perspective when you've drawn it yourself and another pair of eyes always helps to find errors.

Obviously in the very early stages but any pointers (especially the neck/shoulder area) would be really appreciated, thanks!

You're doing very well! Bravo! the only thing I'd change is I'd make the lower part of his neck (where it is next to the head) a bit higher. Perhaps it should even be a slightly convex rather than concave line? I hope I make sense :)
head and ears are really seriously good!!! :) you obviously have talent!

I think that I get that, I agree looking at it again that the lower neck line should probably be a bit higher, so i'll try and fix that.

Thanks! I'm glad you think so, because i'm doing AS's at the moment and working out what to do at uni and have come to the conclusion that graphic design might be the way forward, so it's really reassuring to hear.
