I need to mount a commission when it's done and wondered whether any of you know where I can get some good quality mounts, (makes/brands, shops etc? Or online would be great) As I haven't done this before :D

Do you mean mount or frame?

If you're on a budget then Hobbycraft is very good for getting frames and mounts from, either ready made up or completely DIY for you to put together yourself. Art shops will often also have ready made frames with glass for you to put the picture into.

If your friend is prepared to splash out then you could have it framed professionally at an art/picture framing shop, this does tend to be expensive but does allow you to choose exactly what mount and frame you want as generally they have a lot more variety then places like Hobbycraft.

What medium are you using?

Another alternative is you can get ready mounted canvas paper (has a wooden frame behind it so it's stands out from the wall). This can look very good on it's own with no need for a frame. Be carefull if you use pencils on it though as if you make a mistake it is very difficult to rub out!

Thanks, using pencil. Not too worried about price, just want to do a good job :) Nothing worse than spending hours on something to finish it off cheaply and shoddily IMO. I'm thinking of mounting it rather than framing, so it can be framed if needs be if that makes sense.
