Arrived at the yard this morning to find my big full neck turnout rug on the floor under the rug rack - unfortunately the tap for our block is outside my stable, so saying it was wet was an understatement.

Opened her stable door to find her other stable rug on the floor in the corner (my fault for forgetting to put it away last night) and she had somehow managed to knock her huge waterbucket over - so another sopping wet rug - aaaagggghhhh

Looking at todays weather, the one she is out in now will also be wet when she comes in!

How do I get them all dry, without taking them home and stinking the house out????

I leave mine in the rug if wet (as thistle says not through) as It dries quicker on them. If I want to change to stablerugs I pop back about 3 hours later and swap its normally dry.

We use FAL dual purpose rugs and they are great. Your horse will be fine with her turnout rug on, the modern ones are so breathable they are generally better than stable rugs quite honestly, as should your horse get hot stable rugs hold the moisture, whereas FAL and the like wick it away and keep the horse more comfortable.

I quite often use heavy weight turnouts on very cold winter nights, seem to hold the heat in better - could still do with another thou, will put it on May's xmas list
