OK....ponios first show at the weekend.
Rising 5 Highland, very green but lovely natured and willing.
Took him to a local show...classes ended up being very large, so to his credit he stood very well with minimal messing.
He was a star all day but I think he was a little tired by the time it came to First Ridden, bless him.
I took him in Coloured in-hand....very large class full of vanner-type cobs with manes and tails trailing on the floor, a couple of appaloosas and a roan....we came 5th, which I was very pleased with due to the class being mahoosive.
M+M large breeds- he came 3rd after a very flashy seccie D and a Fell....judge was very nice....she liked him, and said she would like to see him next year when he filled out a bit more, and that he needed to move with more expression, to really get him going forwards in order to be able to compete with the high-knee D's....but he's really laid back so we will have to work on that...trotting poles and dynamite perhaps?
Then he went in First Ridden/lead Rein with my daughter....that class again was large, about 12 kids on and off leadrein (daughter is on, she's only 6) and they were judges together, not split which I think is not really fair to either group but hey-ho.....she was called in 4th!! Really chuffed- she did her best rising trot and salute bless her!
Gratuitous pics...tragically I am on one of them, ignore me and focus on the gorgeous pony and rider.....
