Very sad to see the Energumene/Edwardstone clash will not happen tomorrow.

I was lucky enough to be part of the Shiskin/Energumene Clarence House last year and it was probably the best race I've been involved with. The atmosphere was enormous, the noise was deafening, the pace was incredible, and despite the wrong result for us it was still the race of the season. It was an absolutely fairly run race with no excuses for either horse. Energumene lost nothing in defeat.

Anyone want to predict how tomorrow's race might have panned out, had it gone ahead?

Edwardstone all day long.

I have to say I'm not too disappointed Ascot is off ? I would have been down there with an absolute boot of a mare to lead up! She's a in, jockey on, out job and hope you don't die in the process!

You'll have to shout when you are down this way again, so us local yokels can come and hurl abuse wave the secret hho wave at you in the parade ring!

Do tell us the mares name if you are allowed to!

Ha. We might finally have met! I think it was Energumene's race this year - he is an absolute machine, and rated 6 pounds higher. It would have been nice to have seen them suss each other out before the Queen Mother though. There is talk of rescheduling the Clarence House to Cheltenham's upcoming meeting, but I would imagine that Energumene will take up his DRF entry now instead. And whether they will go to the trouble of rearranging a two horse race, I'm not sure. I guess if they do they'll re-open the entries and it might attract a couple more. Isn't there a thing which says cancelled Gr 1's have to be rearranged? Or did I imagine that?

They have put it on at Cheltenham next weekend. Hopefully a few more horses will pick up an entry even if they play for place prize money. They don't have to reschedule at all and to be honest rescheduling a race that only attracted 3 horses no matter the grade is pointless.

We will have runners at the meeting but nothing for that race. We don't have any very, very good 2 milers, our best horses are staying Chasers. Rocky is a good 2 miler but he can't go right handed - he would hang his way back into the stable yard ?

I take it back. Sounds like Energumene will go to Cheltenham next week after all. At least we know he handles the track. But then so does Edwardstone...
