Ahh bless. I had my border collies clipped about a month ago they are so much happier. They had everything off and just the feathers on their legs trimmed. I wish I had done it last summer now. They look a little daft but now it has got a months re-growth on they are all fluffy. Don't think I'd like to do it myself though!

Well done, we have a dog groomer working in our shop and she works wonders with dogs! Your dog looks so hot and fed up in the first pic, bet he feels great now. No more knots and mats to cut out, and you'll see ticks much more quickly (there are loads on the moors this year).

Sorry think it looks awful. Doesn't he shed his coat slightly himself?

Must admit...I hate it when people ask me to shave collies off....I much rather tidy them and do some thinning and trimming.
You have done a good job and if you where going to get him shaved off anyway...might aswell do it ya self

wow what a response!lol

about the summer comment!... yes we have had quite a few hot days in sunny Dunstable! and she really suffers with the heat, she scratchs like mental and already started ripping her own hair out so instead of her being uncomfortable with bald patches i thought id give her a hand!

her scratching is down to a minimum, shes had a succsful flea treatment and is in general a must chilled out doggy!

i have taken her to a few grooming parlours before and they never seem to trim or thin enough to make her feel comfortable and forking out 40quid for something pointless i thought i might as well just take it all off! it will grow back after all!

and she was extreamly good for me! plus doing her back and belly i think she rather enjoyed!

I think you've done really well for a first attempt. Much better than my first time with my springer.

It is much better to do my dog at home where he is not stressed and okay he may have a few tram lines so to speak but at least he is more comfortable.
