Ashamed to be human?

Excellent article in HH about long distance horse travel to slaughter houses. Read asmuch as I could bear (and I don't supose they told the half of it). Abi Butcher (the journalist) said that she apologized to the horses for being human.I would like to add my apologies too.

horses to some are just a comodity , to us they are family , i find it incomprehensible that anyone could subject horses and donkeys to such a journey and sleep at night but they do .. on top of thier fast wallets i expect

It makes me too upset. I think it's cos I think of how terrified my horse would be being subjected to that and how anyone can send their horse away knowing that is what it has to face.

There is no need for any animal to be transported miles for slaughter, it's called refrigerated transport.Animals should be put down close to the place of production not carted from one place to another.

why when we are part of europe are there so many differences in law, in england we are much mire animal friendly, but i don't agree with religous killing, (done in the name of religion!!!), The main thing is that we all look after our own animals correctly, and when the time comes make sure we know they are destroyed humanely. Should we go back to more abbetoirs so all meat anmals can be despatched with less hours travelling?

if such a sensitive and beautiful creature has to be slaughtered for food surely as JPJ says they should be killed at transported as carcasses.
and yes that applies to all animals eaten by humans.
I too feel helpless and ashamed to be a human.
how dare the EU tell us what to do and then treat their animals in this way.
