I dont think they actually take part in the organizing. I *think* for BD, venues have to submit dates for dressage and then BD give them the go ahead. The organizers at the event sort everything out and then have to send the results for them to update their records, very slowly.

BD then take a cut of the entry fees. Its usually so much £ per rider.

Does it specifically have to be BD and BSJA? I ask because I *believe* that the role of BE tends to be greater, as an event requires on average 150+ helpers per day. BE are therefore responsible for officials, insurance etc etc. They are incredibly approachable, and when I have had to do similar things in the past, they have been fantastic.
