anyone know what the score is with the ground there?

It has tipped it down with rain in Leicestershire today and made me wonder if Aston will run. If they cancel when will they make a decision?
 
Doubt they will cancel.
Possibly sunday, but no decision until Saturday Im sure, especially as Aston is usually the final decision run for GB teams etc.

Im there on friday, so will report back on ground conditions then

Im trying my best, but as usual, they say they will contact you, but dont.....
What annoys me is that i have offered to help on friday but i still dont know if im needed.
 
I think youre right Mrs T, I do think they will run saturday, but if we have too much rain cancel the rest of the weekend.
However, its been dark here much of the day, rained on and off, but the wind is so strong is drying everything up pretty quickly.

Im 30 minutes away, and we are verging on hard ground here, so fingers x aston havent had much either.

Yep, especially with the amount of help ive offered over the years there.
Thing is, i has a friend who was asked to help, took a day off, only to find that they werent needed!!
Unfortunately thats a bit how theyve got there since Fiona has left.
 
Been speaking to my Farriers whose sister is resident there. They have been working very very hard on drainage and aerovating the ground, to try and encourage perfect going regardless of the weather conditions. IMO it ois very unlikely to be cancelled.....all we need is a day of "drying" and it will be back to "normal" going

Err, hate to point it out but have just seen weather forecast. There's a severe weather warning for Friday due to potential flooding

Keeping everything crossed that the weather misses Aston.
 
Ah, the weather forcasters always get it wrong, we have been told we will have thunder storms here that last 4 days and have had nothing of the sort, hence starting combining!! So hopefully it will stay away, we all need a little more optimism even if it is hard to muster up.

sorry, was a bit short of optimism after a few ridiculously long days in the office. Have Friday off for Aston, horse in tremendous form so fingers crossed.
 
Well good luck I might be fence judging friday evening, and my sister is also competing, although no class for my horse! =( Ah well, hes there in August. Hope you have a good run. Right now there has been a very little amount of rain, and I suspect the ground should be very good for tomorrow! HAve a good one!
