Ladies with ample calves and problems with wellie boots.

Dunlop Purofort, thermo and full safety. Oh the bliss of comfort, they are ample in the calf, have a steel sprung sole which seems to give my step a bit of bounce, and I can assure you that take some doing !, a huge sole leaving nothing to be felt no matter what I stand on, warm but not hot and a comfortable steel toe cap. |Mega grippy in the paddy fields and they withstand urine, chemicals, blood etc. The toe cap should protect me from Ted's 'I'm scared can I balance on your foot mum' moments.

Price seems to vary depending on where you look but I paid £75. I am a sad old girl getting so excited over wellie boots but after a least 6 pairs of failures from other brands these are the bees knees and wanted to share with other ladies searching for wellie boots.

well done...i know the feeling.......i have recently bought seeland wellies and am really happy with them as well....nice and warm, neoprene lined and nice and wide for my chunky calves...as its now so blooming wet everywhere im glad i found them...BLISS!!!!

Oo thank you - need some nice new wellies to fit my chunky calves in - mine are also very short though - how do they come up height wise ?

Perhaps becasue I'm skint but NO WAY would I spend £75 on wellies.
I originally bought rainmasters they were about £40, ok not sexy not a 'name' but they go comfortably round my ample calf even when it's clad in leggings jeans and heat holder socks.
I then bought, rigger wellies, again not sexy, except maybe on men???????
These come with steel toe cap and though I can't remember the exact term they have metal underneath as well would have been handy for when I stood on a nail, these were under £30 and have a fleecy liner too and as they're classed as safety footwear so no VAT.
The first time I wore them (with the leggings under jeans ordinary socks and heat holders over the top) I thought they leaked as my socks were damp but my feet had got so warm they were sweaty, gross I know.

I love my dunlops, but mine cost £55?! So far mine have survived about 9 months, which is about 4 months longer than my hunters, and I havent slipped over once! Find them nice and warm, only down side is the extra calf space means they are tempted to stay in the mud and let me carry on alone! Squelch
