Hi all,

As promised, piccies of my gorgeous little man. He has been weighed at 6 lb 10 this morning at 9 days old so after our scare with him not feeding, spending all of last week in hospital ( long and horrible story! ) we are over the moon! He is all better now and very very greedy : )

Hope you like them!

Aww bless, what a sweety!

I missed the hospital post, must've been very worrying. Glad he is ok and feeding well :).

Thank you... Yes he is gorgeous!! He was very poorly, I had him at home with no drugs as I didn't want him anywhere near a hospital picking up germs and didn't want his tiny little body filled with drugs... Anyways, got through all that fine ( extremely painful but did it : ) ... ) He was born at 6lb8 and was totally happy and healthy. Then over the next 48 hours got really poorly, he wouldn't feed and got sleepy and just hardly woke up, we took him into the hospital monday morning for a glucose test and they decided he needed to stay in, he had gone down to 5lb13 and had a low sugar test. He had blood tests and they found that he had picked up an infection...The full results of the blood cultures would be back in 48 hours, so the next day the docs come to me and say he needs a LP ( Doesn't explain what it was just that he needed it to test for viruses and that I had to sign a consent form for it ) So we trusted the docs, let him go for this LP, I then called my mum to tell her and we realised it was a bloody Lumbar Puncture... I went straight to special care to try to see what was going on and they wouldn't let me in with him...They had let a bloody student do it! They failed to get the fluid 3 times then gave up, so my poor little boy went through all that pain for nothing! I am furious...Had they told me what a LP actually was I would never have let him have it, especially as the blood cultures ( which were testing the same thing were 24 hours ahead of LP results )

The hospital in general were a total nightmare, We will be making 1 HUGE complaint about it all... They thought he was poorly enough to warrant having a lumbar puncture but wasn't poorly enough for them to check on him, my midwife friend explained that he should at least be on 4 hourly obs, if not in special care, but they didn't even check his tempreture from monday till wednesday!!!

Anywho, he is home now, feeding very very well and is the most beautiful little boy I have ever seen ( not that I'm biased )

Hope you like the photo's, the ones of him on his own are sooo cute!!
