At what temperature does your dog not want to walk?

Tonight it has finally cooled off here in NYC, though the sticky icky weather still pervades. We just walked for 45 minutes, and the temperature monitor at the bank read 83 degrees. Anything over 85, however, and Stella goes from willing trotter, hardly panting, to sunbather extraordinaire. Forget walking then--she prefers to work on her tan!

NB She will play fetch in *any* weather, even in the middle of the day, even if it's 90 degrees. Very odd because bulldog-types aren't supposed to do well in the heat, but she laps it up

Does your dog have a temperature cut-off in the summer heat, or are they always raring to go?

Hard to say as this is her first summer but so far our 8 month old doesn't know when to stop in the heat. We have to tell her! If we've been out in the sun she would like to keep going for as long as we let her - which of course we are sensible about. She goes mad for fetching her ball and whatever the weather would probably go for hours given half the chance

My dog is an older girl now around 12 years old or so we think. This is only our 3rd year together as she was a rescue.

She doesn't cope well in anything over 25 degrees centigrade and has a fan on in the house during the day. But anything below 15 and she starts shivering. Maybe it's her age or maybe I spoil her too much.

My Chow will happily walk in any temperature, it doesn't bother her.
