Atherstone Trials Tomorrow...

Was all set to do the bigger class but there is a whacking great bank as the second to last fence. It is bigger than any of the fences, really solid and they have dug out the approach which means it is muddy and the face of the bank is not straight. My green horse would just slide straight into it as she wouldn't have a clue what to do with it

Thats the fence i was wondering about to. Harry shouldn't have a problem really but the ground is rubbish into it which makes me think twice. i have pre-entered but not sure now

It's a shame to be honest. Liked the rest of the course except the gappy pheasant feeder over the ditch (2 before bank) but probably wouldn't have caused a problem. Only going for an educational run so will take it easy and see what happens - off to check the weather forecast now

Not going as we are doing RC hunter trial qualifier on Sunday but do you think they scrapped it out and were going to fill it with something firm.Just a thought ,sounds a strange fence

Yh.
I am not sure whether to run it, and see how he goes, if he jumps everything fine have a go at the bank?
I am hacking down as i not far away and lorry off road so winds not a prob just the snow!

I've not seen what they have done to it (as been at dressage all day so walking in the morning) but its a step that the kids jump at Pony Club Mini camp and it jumps ok but ofcourse I've not seen how much they have dug it out.... My daughter has jumped it loads of times on her 12hh pony

Is it the step on the left hand side near the gate or on the right near the road? if its the left hand then I've had masses of kids up and down on anything from 12hh up, Carthorse's daughter will of had kids up it teaching at camp too.... but you say its been dug out so maybe they have made it bigger but it was quite big before....

I'm still not sure if we will run a pony or not....

Will see you in the morning maybe???

There was a smaller bank in the clear round which is about 2'6 in height - that one is fine and the take off is much better. They are both in a hedgeline at the bottom of the hill - sorry I don't know the course at all so my location description is not good

I want to go but will check the weather in the morning....
