Anyone hunt with them? What are they like? I went out with Readyfield last year and got the bug but I'm in Atherstone country so it would make more sense to go with them and I'd be able to got out more often. Do I have to do lots of big jumps or can I take the wimps way and go through gates? I don't mind small jumps but anything over 3ft6 I find scary.

Atherstone is not a "huge" jump hunt, there are parts that are round the Kennels and Sibson way but mostly its not big.... its a friendly working class Hunt that makes people welcome and does deals for people new to hunting so you can go a few times and it not cost lots of money.

Worth giving it ago I think

I've only been hunting half a dozen times and go with the Atherstone, they're all really friendly. The first time I went they paired me up with someone (my first ever hunt) and lots of people kept coming up to me and asking if I was ok. Also when I parted with them to go back, the hunt master asked me if I'd enjoyed myself.

There are some jumps, I've never been over much more than 3ft, there's almost always a good gate way  And usually someone prepared to give you a lead over.

I've been drag hunting with the Readyfield and prefer Atherstone personally.
