A bloke came over yesterday to try my gelding out with interest in eventing him for me......now my horse is definately 'challenging' and after i got through a 'testing' stage of him rearing/bucking/spinning etc he seems to have settled! Well yesterday he chucked his potential event rider off 6 times by just being an ar*e!! I was pleased to say that this didn't overly bother the rider but is he going to test anyone new that rides him?! How can I get him over this? In general, i dont want people in general riding him but what if i was ill.....no-one would ride him for me cuz he prats about until he's established that he wont win! x
Also, the rider said that he is 'very athletic and absolutely loves him' and even though i'm pleased that he could also see his potential which i really believes he has, what does athletic really mean?!
My horse was bucking, rearing, flinging about everywhere to start with but settled with him once he got over initially being a total di*k!! lol he then jumped fine and worked well for him!
so how can i help him to stop challenging anyone new who sits on him and what is 'athletic' ? xx
