Message to Lincolnshire Horse Watch members from Lincolnshire Police HQ, Community Safety Department on Wednesday 29 February 2012.
Overnight Monday 27 February 2012, offenders removed fencing to fields which contained horses at Green Lane, Cherry Willingham. Offenders pulled a large chunk of hair from the mane of one horse and a plait from the mane of a Cob also in the field. The horses were covered in dried sweat from running and it is believed offenders chased them around for quite some time in an effort to catch the horses. Although this attempt was unsuccessful they may return, so please be vigilant if you see anyone paying attention to horses in this area at unusual times please call police immediately on 101, or if you have any information you can ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Two males were seen on 27/02/12 to drive across the ‘Bunny run’ a track which runs between Hawthorn Road and Fiskerton Road, in a navy blue Ford Fiesta and park in the corner of the field before leaving the area.
