Atypical myopathy

I read this. We lost our 7 year old Cob on Moday - colic, however vet felt there was something else going on, possibly liver damge. The thing is she has never been exposed to ragowrt or pisnous plants, certainly not since we have owned her, though I know its possible for damge to occur and not cause illness for many years. After reading this I am now wondering. I did a google search (dangerous) and some of the dangers include horse living out 24/7, bare pastures and feeding hay on the ground in damp humid weather - all the things we did (very good doer cob). Its a scary condition.

I guess I am just searching for that illusive why.
