seriously, what's the best way of managing an Auboise bed with a horse that does tend to be rather "wet"?

Deep litter and gut at the weekends?

Take out wet daily?

All tips appreciated.

Definitely the first, deep litter and take out the wet at the weekend. Make sure your bed is deep enough and just poo pick daily off the top - don't be tempted to dig! It's amazing how much Aubiose can soak up if you let it, so allowing it to go to the bottom of the bed keeps the top dry.

If your horse is a bed trasher it may not be so successful but the main thing is to maintain a deep bed. Deep beds don't move around so much even if your horse is active in its stable.

I love Aubiose.

a friend at the yard has a very wet pony on aubiose, and he is stabled for a large proportion of the day due to laminitis.
she digs out the wet once a week, and has a very deep bed. i have to say she seems to get through quiet alot of it! but it does work, the wet stays concealed, and the bed doesnt smell.

it is designed to be deep littered, so by taking out the wet everyday you may not be optimising its absoptive properties

I use Aubiose on my disgustingly wet horse. I poo pick every day and take the wet out once a week. I have to say that by the wednesday the wet is starting to seep through the front as the stable slopes that way. I was thinking about megazorb or something similar as the Aubiose on it's own isn't working.

My Filly is in 24/7 on box rest and the best way I have found to manage her bed is to remove droppings and any 'loose' wee that has come to the surface by hand. then once a week remove all the wet. I get through 2 bales a week and although I'd prefer a thick bed, I can't really have one with her as she struggles to get up and ends up wringling and getting stick against the wall!!

I love auboise

However I tried to deep litter my very wet girl on it and it was awful. However this was not helped by the stable floor being cobbled (Moisture used to rise from below)

I found the easist way to deal with it was to throw it up every and and then lay back down. By doing this I only had to use 1 x bale a week.
