Looking for peoples reviews on Aubiose bedding?

Thinking of changing my 16hh TB onto it, he isn't particularly wet and wees in the same place, but he does poo quite a lot although again generally in the same place and i skip out late evening when doing hay and night check. I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant with twins so looking for a bedding which is nice, quick and easy to muck out in the mornings and economical going forward. Currently use Hunters shavings but it moves so much his poo seems to get moved quite a bit so hoping a more stable bed would help, also its a bloody nightmare to get hold of!

Thanks in advance everyone :)

I'm a fan. I think it's a great bedding and mucking out will definitely be easier. I've used it on a variety of horses and haven't found a situation where it isn't better than shavings. It's way more absorbent and doesn't move around, so poo is just left where it lands. It looks expensive, but I use substantially less than I would shavings each month, so it actually works out cheaper.

Thank you, it looks and sounds great so good to hear others feel the same! I was just thinking to really let it bed in for a couple of weeks and will also be quick if i need help later in pregnancy and giving birth for others too. Im really anal with his beds but i appreciate not everyone else is or has the time to be when they are helping you so looking for something easy that wont end up minging!

Fabulous bedding. If you are going to start a new bed from scratch you do need to sprinkle some water on it to start it. Then try not to disturb it too much keep poo picking it as much as possible. I wouldn’t change to anything else now .

I don't use bedding much these days, but when I do, it's aubiose. It's lovely to muck out and it sounds ideal for a horse that poops a lot but isn't very wet.

I much preferred it to shavings. Same as yours mine would wee and poo in the same spots so easy to muck out, although it did dry her poos out and they would crumble if moved around.
I’m back on straw now though and much prefer it to anything else.

Properly managed and you will have very little waste and a much smaller muck heap. It is also good for the garden unlike any wood based product. It is best not to take the wet out unless it really needs it. I think the secret is to be generous at the start and after a couple of weeks it is very economical.
Mine have never tried to eat it but if you were worried you can put a little disinfectant in that first watering of a brand new bed.
Mine went to livery one time and bedding was straw pellets and she started wolfing them down frightened me to death! Yard owner took it out and I brought my own bedding.

We really rate it, and we use for it a range of clean and messy horses, and open stables as shetlers. All have the wet out once a week and topped up with 1 bale a week. The messiest one has got a discolored but still dry bed which is fine just more unsightly than the other stables. The tip is to make sure the bed is thick enough, exactly how aubiose advise to set it up really. Our muck heap has halved in size since we ditched the hunters and moved to aubiose. x

I mainly use chopped straw & shavings for bulk of my bed, I use Aubiose in the base though. At the moment I dig out the wet every 2 weeks(horse is only in a few hours a day) I then tip another bag of Aubiose into the base. It is really stable & it's so absorbent. 1st winter I've tried this & it's amazing how much wee it soaks up!
