Aubiose or Equinola

I am moving to new stables soon at home, in a dilemma which bedding to use. Currently using shavings but don’t want to continue as next door farmer is kindly taking my muck trailer and I want to use something that will rot quicker. Both horses are pretty clean. I would want to get a pallet delivered, north west England. Any advice please?
 
Aubiose though when I used it was more expensive than the equinola. Was more economical in the long run as pee patch more contained, I semi deep littered on it. Also my mare ate quite a bit of the equinola. Rats and mice nested in my bulk load of both & the yard dogs ripped them to shreds. 🙄

eta miscanthus is another option, not burleybed though
 
No experience of Equinola but Aubiose has changed my life. I use it as an underlayer for straw beds, and you could almost do surgery in my stables. It keeps them so clean, and it saves tons of straw. I think my horses are happier, and I am definitely happier.
 
I got a pallet of equinola at the start of winter as it was cheaper at the time. My retired gelding is fine on it but he’s very clean in the stable - poos in one spot, wees in another and never tramples his bedding around. His companion however is hideously dirty - poos and wees everywhere, treads in it, spreads it all around and generally makes his stable look like he’s been having a drunken party there. He produces copious amounts of wee and the equinola isn’t quite absorbent enough for him. Thankfully they’re only in overnight if the weather’s unremittingly foul or one of them needs to be in for some reason. If I just had mine I’d think it was great - if I just had his friend I’d think it was useless so I suspect it very much depends on how dirty your horse is.
 
You might want to join Dr David Marlin's group - he's just done tested a range of bedding for dust, absorbency etc. He's got a Facebook page with details of his group. I don't think Aubiose came out too well.
 
Take a quick look at Unibed on FB, it's chopped rape straw and very reasonably priced if buying a pallet.
If I keep my bed fairly thick the wee patch ud nice and small, and easy to muck out.

In my own tests, I've found Aubiose the best that suits mine and my fuzzies needs, particularly for the one that has resp issues 😊

Just looking at this, is it fairly heavy/stays stable in the bed or does it blow about?
