aubiose

I used it before switching to flax - it was good for how I used it. I have full matting down then only use a wee bit on top and as there is limited muckheap space we worm composted it down. I switched to flax because it was cheaper

I used to use it before finding a cheaper alternative (Bliss). I deep littered it through the week then did full muck out at weekends. It worked really well. Its better if you dont take it up every day unlike shavings, maybe take it up every 3 days if you have a messy horse! I much preffer it to shavings and my mare stayed really clean on it.

Hope this helps.

No you don't use it the same as shavings, it works best on a semi deep litter method. Put about 6 bales in to start with (more if you have a big stable, mine is only 10x12), and skip out daily, taking out as little bed as possible. Once a week you take out the wet bottom layer and top up with 1-2 bales of fresh bedding.

I love Aubiose. It's really good for feet too.

We've used auboise for about 6 years now. I really like it although it can be quite expensive. I don't use it like you should do as I have a really dirty mare and a rubbish stable floor - awful combination. I throw it up every day and this means the bedding lasts longer and doesn't go squellchy (sp) which is what happened when I deep littered.
I use 1 bag a week for the mare and 1 bag every 10 days for my gelding.
There is next to no smell with auboise, its lovely and warm for them to stand/lay in and doesn't shift much.

I love it! it saves soo much time, it doesnt smell! I just skip out every day and take out the wet when i need to, i would say i use 1 bale every 2 weeks!! I have big banks and just spread a little bit of clean bedding around on top when needed!

My mum uses shaving and it takes he 3 times as long to muck out
