Hello Guys

I have just got August copy of horse and rider and have been taking a look a the jumping article on page 18 - 22.

Now the lady on the bay horse looks terribly uncomfortable in the saddle that she is using - I was wondering - I am no expert but I would say that the saddle didnt fit ?

Has anyone else seem this copy of Horse and Rider and what do they think?

And what are the implications of a saddle not fitting you towards your horse? Would the weight distribution not be even and cause problems for you horses back?

I am not meaning to offend anyone but I see riding schools in my area cram people in saddles and it looks abit like this and it doesnt look comfortable for anyone.

Apologies if this is offensive I am not trying to make fun .....- I ride in a 17.5 saddle as I have a right bum on me - saddler explained that I needed to fit well into the saddle and not be 'spilling over' as its vey uncomfortable for horse and rider etc ......

Thanks

Deffo too small, she isnt huge but looks bigger coz half her bum is off the edges.

Also the poor horse has the cheekpieces pinching round his eyes.... all round tack check needed i think!!

I thought the same - why would a magazine use this ?

I am no expert but if I could notice that - I thought others would?

And these mags are always preaching on about correct tack fitting !!!

Silly

Thanks

When I was in Your Horse mag there was a pic of my bum from the back in my saddle- well lets just say I bought a new 17.5 inch saddle within 1 week!
