Ed was sold to me with his tack, including a Aurigan French Link snaffle bit.

I have the feeling it could do with being an inch wider, it doesn't pinch atm but there isnt much room for error there.

What are the pros and cons of this bit metal please and should I strive to replace it, like for like or is a normal bit ok?

If he goes nicely in it i would get the same bit. It is supposed to be 'warmer' than steel. im not convinced of this myself but would just stick with what works

I couldn't really say if he goes nicely or not, but Im not confident changing it yet because I don't know enough - yet

Thanks for the explanation, was wondering the reason for it being a bit more expensive.

Am I right in saying that Aurigan is KK?

If so there is very little difference as far as I can see between that and Salox which is NS.

In fact the only visibly difference is that NS are a lot cheaper than KK!

Mine has a KK Ultra and loves it. About the only bit that he mouths and accepts nicely

A new bit was £120 !! but I got a used one on ebay for £40 ! Had to keep watching and waiting on ebay but it was worth it.
