as title really- is it personal preference or is one better than the other?

I have an automatic Isuzu Tropper and love it, autos far easier than manuals......didn't want one originally and now much prefer it, my Dad once said to me, once you've driven an auto you'll never want a manual again - he was right!

I've got an auto Pajero, and it is the best! I swopped to a manual Disco for a while and hated towing with it. It is personal preference though I think.

My friend (who is a driving instructor) has a manual and said mine tows a lot smoother.

3 out of the 4 cars in our household are auto - the manual car is a sports one so that's allowed

Providing you have a gutsy enough engine I would say Auto is nicer but if you have a smaller engine I would chose a manual personally

I have a Shogun 3.2TD Auto...its fab especially on the hills round here which are steep!! I have the option of manual though for when going down steep hills which is really useful

auto is easier if you're not too happy changing gears but it will use more fuel so running costs are higher. Yer pays yer money and takes yer choice!

I've got an auto with plenty of Torgue, so very smooth to tow with.

It's got a tripronic gear box, so if I ever need to, I can change it up and down gears as I choose, whilst it is going along. (Not that I have ever need too!)
