Autumn hunting start times?

In a nutshell - scent - it's so warm in the autumn (comparatively lol!) that you have to start early enough that there is enough scent for the hounds to work with. By 9am, it's too warm - in the winter, it's colder and wetter and scent is better.

Our local hunt start cubbing in the evenings. In August they start at 5pm, September 4 pm etc until Opening Meet and they alternate the meets between mounted and foot.

Far more civilised! ;)
