Hi all
I have never been hunting before but I would like to have a go at Autumn Hunting. In my late 30's so a bit late to start!

I was wondering which hunt in the Sussex area would be most suitable for me (and my horse) don't mind popping a few SMALL
fences so would prefer a hunt with alternate routes, with some friendly people who don't mind showing me the ropes. Xxx

It's great to hear you want to start hunting! Luckily, I think probably all of the Sussex hunts will be suitable for you in Autumn Hunting, because this tends to consist of more standing around and very little jumping compared to ordinary, main season hunting. I'm not from the area so I don't know what the different hunts are like, but I would think the Crawley & Horsham are probably your most local pack. I think a lot of their country is woodland, so I doubt they will jump very much especially in the Autumn. With all hunts as a general rule, as Autumn Hunting continues through September and into October, the starts begin to get later, there is less standing around, more galloping, and more jumping, so the earlier you go the less jumping there will be. Other packs around you include the Southdown & Eridge, and the East Sussex with Romney Marsh.
