Well blimey, her old owner said she was a good hunter but i didn't expect her to be THIS good!
Got to the meet and we where late, but luckily they where only at a covert in the adjoining field. So on i got, expecting her to start jogging off to join everyone- but no, she walked extreamly calmly and stood like a statue when I asked her too. Then, after about 30 minutes stood around, everyone suddenly galloped off, and I was in mid- sentance with a foot follower- and i actually managed to finish what i was saying with her stood stock still untill i asked her to go, and she bounded into a lovely long canter
Then we got to a small hunt jump, and we where being cut up badly by little kids, but she stood fine untill it was ok to go, and she cantered on and popped it beautifully! she was just a pleasure to hunt all day long!
She even stood perfectly when i got off to do a gate she was amazing!
I hacked back at about 11, along with about 20 other people (they had a good turn out of over 100 today!), and we took the lead because i was the only person who knew the way back (everybody else had gone a different way previously through a farmyard, but i lead everyone this way back over the jump )
so we got to the jump which had a rail over it making it about 3"6ft...i turned behind me and asked if they wanted me to lower it, but they said keep it up, so on i went leading 20 people over a rather large fence, which she popped beautifully!
very happy now, cannot wait to go to the opening meet!
