I know I have asked about Hunting before but this year I am determined to give it a go!

I don't want to go drag hunting as it seems to be more about jumping (correct me if I am wrong?) so where can I go Autumn hunting in Surrey or surroundings where I don't have to jump much if I don't want to? Horse is perfectly capable of jumping, rider is a big chicken :)

If you go onto the Master of Foxhounds Assocaition (MFHA) website it shows a map of all packs in the country and gives the sec's details, who can give you all the relevant info.

Our pack tend not to do that much jumping whilst AH, but whether AH or full hunting, there are always ways round anyhow.

The only pack I know in Surrey is the Surrey Union and are a friendly bunch.

Just bite the bullet and go - I felt exactly the same as you 5 seasons ago when I first started, but am a total addict now and have got a lot braver too boot!!

Let us know how you get on!

Surrey union does look good but appears to be drag hunting? I work in Horsham so I guess I could have a look at them too thanks. Anyone know Old Surrey Burstow and West Kent?

Though Sidney's is response is useful it is in fact only part of the story.
It is not the hunt that determines whether there are jumps to be negotiated but the hunt country that is made available to them by the landowners, as a result the presence or otherwise of jumps may vary wildly between meets. In the Surrey area there are six packs of hounds that offer mounted hunting ranging from two packs of foxhounds which both operate under the conditions laid down by the Hunting Act, two of blood hounds and two of drag packs. The only source of all hunts whether mounted or foot packs is Baily's which even the H&H team use as their 'bible' for hunt details. In the directory section type in Surrey in the 'Area search facility' and it will give you the current details of all the hunts including all contact details and a description of the hunt country.
Baily's can be found here www.bailyshuntingdirectory.com

Hi, I'd love to go autumn hunting with the Surrey Union and then hopefully full hunting after that.
If anyone has any meet details, could you PM me please?

Thanks!
:)
