OK, here we go for all you nice peole to explain to me the thoughts and practices behind "Autumn Hunting" or "cubhunting".
Is it (or was it, depending if it is against the law or not) just practice/training for the hounds or an important time in the hunting calendar?

Good place to take new horsie, because it shouldnt be too manic, and can teach them to stand around!

Although, to me "cubbing" is usually what we do with the terriers in mid march...when the cubs are still that...cubs!

A disgusting and illegal practice.

Lord_Blairite

Doing cubs with terriers is still perfectly legal. Plus there is nothing disgusting about it. It can be a good crack.

I was waiting til I saw a few more posts before commenting but
"there is nothing disgusting about it. It can be a good crack."
Hunting anything, and having fun doing it is disgusting.

"And thats your view..."
Yep, thats why I put it there.
Hunters who hunt for "pest control" are bad enough but people who take pleasure in it are worse.

"Well then I suggest you slap him on the wrist and go back to the office man"

I wouldn't slap anyone for having different views (already been discussed in other thread) and I don't work in an office.

No sarcasm seen, just cultural stereotyping.
Anti = hippy and hippy = unemployed, I thought we'd got past that.

Oh I give up with you. I was mocking the whole 'generalisation' thing...please engage brain.

Ooh Goody! The worst of the lot.

I'd do it even if it wasn't for pest control!

I enjoy it. Its one of man's most natural behaviours. It can be a good CRAIC! ( Thanks Tink) Unless its raining of course then its just miserable. But still good fun.

He has to have one in order to engage it. Properly fried his years ago on skank and magic mushrooms. You know what these hippies are like. Have visions of a slap headed Neil off the Young Ones.....

What about people who take pleasure in doing it for fox control?

Are they even worse still, a little better or somewhere in the middle.

I'm not sure about the mathematics of your morality.

This reply says it all. Good Crack!! not for the fox cubs. What sort of disgusting person enjoys digging out cubs from the ground to tear them apart. It makes me sick, these people are nothing but thugs. If you gave them motorbikes and weapons we would put them inside. It just attracts thugs who want to vent their frustration and spleen on innocent animals. We all know that the hunt is totally unnecessary to control foxes. When foot and mouth was around the last time the fox community did a pretty good job of controlling themselves. Why do hunts actually breed foxes to hunt if they are such a nuisance. It is time somebody stood up to people like this and told them to get a life, preferably a life not harming wildlife.
